There are many universal truths that not only affect classical and contemporary literature, but the roles of people in society. A universal truth is a trait that describes a hero and is known globally. These truths, such as selflessness, loyalty, and bravery, are able to withstand the test of time. Selflessness is defined as one who is more concerned with the needs and wishes of others than with one’s own. Loyalty is one who gives or shows firm and constant support or allegiance to a person or institution. Lastly, bravery is one who is ready to face and endure danger or pain. They can be found in any book, movie, or TV show, and are shown throughout history with the help of many significant figures.
